MORE INFO
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the famous opera Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, the How I met Puccini® project celebrates the genius of the composer from Lucca with a concert in Pietrasanta that explores his music in a new light, highlighting its extraordinary instrumental value .
The repertoire is part of the multidisciplinary project created by the composer and performer Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli, who for four years has been carrying out a series of artistic and cultural initiatives to bring new generations closer to live music and opera. How I met Puccini® was born in 2020 during the second lockdown as a series of videos in 10 episodes, released on YouTube, and has evolved into a registered trademark, becoming a point of reference for contemporary Puccini music and art. With a repertoire that ranges from chamber music to symphonic orchestrations, the project aims to make Puccini's music more accessible and appreciable to a young and international audience. Puccini's transcription and recomposition for chamber ensembles and orchestras allows his music to be enhanced in new forms, without ever betraying its essence. On this occasion, the concert focuses on a reinterpretation of Tosca and a small fantasy on the themes of Il Tabarro, which with originality and freshness explores the modernity of Puccini's musical language.
